The Embark Adventure No Pull Dog Harness rated well for comfort and fit. The padded chest plate ensures that there is no chafing or discomfort, even during extended use. The four adjustment points allow for a customized fit, making it suitable for dogs of various shapes and sizes.
I chose a dog with a very deep chest to test this product. The shape of his body makes it hard to find harnesses that fit comfortably. In his case, the material fit comfortably, but the straps were snug around his legs causing some discomfort, especially when pulling. It didn’t seem to bother him though.
The harness distributes pressure evenly across the chest and shoulders, reducing strain on the dog’s neck and making it a great choice for daily walks and more rigorous activities.
Durability
Durability is a standout feature of the Embark Adventure Harness. Constructed from high-quality nylon, it withstood rigorous testing without showing any wear and tear. Having used a variety of harnesses in my career, this product uses my favorite material. Not only is it durable, but it’s water wicking and stays relatively clean compared to other materials on the market. The material may even outperform my favorite harness, the Ruffwear Front Range Harness.
In addition, the leash attachments are both made of metal and are double stitched to make sure they don’t separate from the harness during heavy use.
Ease of Use
The harness is relatively easy to put on and adjust, thanks to its user-friendly design. The quick-release buckles make it simple to secure the harness on the dog. Once adjusted correctly, the harness stays in place and doesn’t require frequent readjustments.
The only improvement to ease of use would be a 3rd buckle on the neck strap to make it easier to put on without placing it over the head of the dog. As some dogs are “head-shy” they don’t like hands and equipment in their faces. A 3rd buckle would allow you to slip the harness on from the side and create a more comfortable experience for the dog.
Safety Features
Safety is clearly a top priority with the Embark Adventure Harness. The reflective trim is a crucial feature for nighttime and low-light conditions, enhancing visibility and ensuring both the dog and owner are seen by others. The dual leash attachment points, one on the chest and one on the back, offer versatility and control. The front attachment point can be used when working on leash handling skills such as pulling.
One of my favorite features of this design, which is missing from so many harnesses, is the convenient handle on the back of the harness. This acts as a “traffic loop” which allows handlers to gain additional control of their dog when in tight spaces. The handle is comfortable and durable enough for restraining the dog, but I don’t recommend using it to lift a dog, like handles seen on dog life vests.

Its design accommodates various dog activities, making it an excellent all-around harness. During our testing, it performed well in different scenarios, providing the necessary support and control.
